Most of my training lies in traditional theatre, but my passion lies in immersive Productions. I make art in many different ways: cosplay, makeup, costumes, wigs, themed parties, or traditional art like painting, drawing, and digital media. I draw from history, mythology, and stories. I want to create an environment through character or world creation that when you step into it, feels like an escape. An environment, that while alien to reality is still using lessons from history and notes from current events to teach through immersive storytelling.

I really benefited from having somewhere that gave me an escape from my life. An event like the Renaissance Festival, a place like Disneyland, or an experience like cosplay has always made me feel significantly more comfortable with myself and my place in life. I want to be a part of something that creates a compelling experience. To create an escape from reality that still takes and teaches lessons from history and is relevant to current social issues. This is how I can make something that makes a difference, this is how I can get a message out. Media creates the narrative for the world to follow and I want to be a part of creating that narrative.

I think anyone could do the work that I do, but that doesn’t mean that my work isn’t unique. Anyone could create what I’m creating. I think of it as going to museums and seeing a simplistic piece of art and thinking “I could do that”. The thing is that you didn’t, it’s not about whether or not you do something, and most of the time the art is a lot more nuanced than you give it credit for on first viewing, and maybe you couldn’t actually do it. But it’s not about that, it’s about the fact that you did it, that you had the idea, and decided to execute it. No one else has had the exact life experience that led me to create the work that I do and therefore it is mine.
